RSGS Aberdeen Group

The RSGS Aberdeen Group was established in 1885; Henry O Forbes gave the first public talk, entitled Mount Stanley & Papua New Guinea.

There are now six RSGS Inspiring People talks in Aberdeen each year.

2nd October 2017 – Will Millard, Life With the Hunters of the South Seas

30th October 2017 – Anna McNuff, Running the Length of New Zealand (and other good ideas)

27th November 2017 – Prof. Colin Ballantyne, The Ice Age in Scotland

8th Jan 2018 – Jason Lewis, Lessons in Sustainability: An Explorer’s Tale

5th February 2018 – Alex Bescoby, A Decade in Burma

5th March 2018 – Prof. Iain Stewart, The Land Below Ground: Journeys Through Britain’s Underworld

These talks are given on Monday evenings, and all talks in the 2017-18 season will be held at the University of Aberdeen’s New King’s Building.
