RSGS Aberdeen Group

The RSGS Aberdeen Group was established in 1885; Henry O Forbes gave the first public talk, entitled Mount Stanley & Papua New Guinea.

There are now six RSGS Inspiring People talks in Aberdeen each year.

1st October 2018 – Simon Parker, A Reporter’s Adventures

5th November 2018 – John Pilkington FRSGS, Retracing a Victorian Expedition

3rd December 2018 – Rod Downie, Icons on Ice: Innovation in Polar Bear Conservation

7th January 2019 – Doug Allan FRSGS, Whale Meet Again…

4th February 2019 – Benedict Allen, Ultimate Explorer

4th March 2019 – Prof Wade Davis FRSGS, The Wayfinders: Why Ancient Wisdom Matters in a Modern World

 

These talks are given on Monday evenings, and all talks in the 2018-19 season will be held at the University of Aberdeen’s New King’s Building.
