RSGS Dundee Group

The RSGS Dundee Group was established in 1884; Henry Morton Stanley gave the first public talk, entitled The Congo.

There are now six RSGS Inspiring People talks in Dundee each year.

2nd October 2018 – Simon Parker, A Reporter’s Adventures

6th November 2018 – John Pilkington FRSGS, Retracing a Victorian Expedition

4th December 2018 – Rod Downie, Icons on Ice: Innovation in Polar Bear Conservation

8th January 2019 – Prof Alaister Dawson, Sea Level Change: The Highs and Lows

5th February 2019 – Benedict Allen, Ultimate Explorer

5th March 2019 – Prof Wade Davis FRSGS, The Wayfinders: Why Ancient Wisdom Matters in a Modern World

These talks are given on Tuesday evenings, and all talks in the 2018-19 season will be held at the University of Dundee’s Dalhousie Building.
