Working with Living Communities (a partnership between Perth & Kinross Council and The Gannochy Trust) and Perth Museum, we ran a photojournalism day for 14 S4 pupils from Perth Grammar School. This involved visiting a photojournalism exhibition at Perth Museum, followed by sessions looking at maps and old photographs of Perth, as well as learning about photographic techniques and developing skills for interviewing.
In the afternoon, pupils were set photojournalism assignments in Perth High Street. Examples of assignments included interviewing and photographing the owners of old shops in Perth, and photographing shop fronts and matching old photos of the High Street to their present-day locations.
